Now unless you’re living in an island isolated from all forms of communication from the outside world for 20+ years, you probably know what a cosplay is. To keep it brief, it is one of the best ways of showing love to your favourite comic book, anime or tv shows and movie characters by creating costumes based on them by using items found in your homes. Cosplay in Shillong is still kind of a new thing and people have started noticing it through the various events held each year. But we’re not here to talk about events alright so why is it good for you and everything around you?
How it helps you?? Since the props and items are self made, a cosplayer or just a prop maker makes use of the time and excess energy in making them which requires a lot of trial and error and discipline. The reason why you’ll never meet a lazy cosplayer is because they are always on the go, looking for items to use and how to use. There are even cosplayers who join gyms just so they can get in shape and match the character that they are cosplaying. So in a way cosplaying helps both mind and body as well as reducing the chances of getting any diseases which are caused by bad habits.
How it helps the Earth? Cosplayers also recycle a lot of items and this is the perfect example of ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ . Forgive us if we butchered the actual saying but the message is as clear as my wallet right now (please donate, I'm poor) . So what you call trash in a cosplayer’s room is actually just a future prop and we all know how recycling helps reduce the garbage output thereby helping the environment in the long run etc (you're welcome, earth). Of course this article can be called “How *anything productive* Is Actually good for You and Everything around you” but at KUSNO we discuss topics related to recent events that happened or is soon to happen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Also I think my boss knows I'm not working at the office and writing articles here. Eh, KUSNO is a multimillion company so he shouldn't mind.
